2013 will be a very good year for our friends at Rapha. It started magnificent in January with the news that they will outfit Bradley Wiggins’ Team Sky. And now they released, in their persistent elegant aesthetic fashion, a very appealing Training & Racing range for Spring/Summer 2013. Backdrop for this season’s range is Corsica, the island hosting the Grand Départ of the Tour de France for the first time this summer with the event celebrating it’s 100th edition. Corsica is the most mountainous island in the Mediterranean, and the last of the 27 ‘régions’ of France to be included in the Tour.
The range it self features pieces like the merino-blend Vintage Trade Team Jerseys and caps in great colourways named after the legendary cyclists: Planckaert, Poulidor and Anquetil. These three cyclist were first, second en third of the 1962 Tour de France, in which the professional trade teams were allowed back in the race after a period of 31 years with only national teams competing. The iconic Classic Jersey also returns this season in blue, black and red and white with the familiar classic aesthetic. Other standouts from the range are the bright orange, black and chartreuse editions of the Classic Wind Jacket, super lightweight clothing for hot weather riding and the Pro Team range as used by Team Sky and Rapha Condor JLT.
