Cold Brew

We love, especially now during the Holidays, the latest by Crooked Nose & Coffee Stories from Vilnius, Lithuania; a cold brew coffee made out of freshly and light roasted Colombian Medellin beans, steeped for 14 hours. It’s also double filtered to have a texture as soft as possible. The first batch of the hand bottled coffee consist of 35 items and was presented during Christmas market organized by Lithuanian Design Block in Vilnius, Lithuania.

As it is a new product in the local coffee market Crooked Nose tried to introduce local coffee lovers to it with a couple events before officially launching this dark concentrated drink. Crooked Nose also give lots of suggestions on how to enjoy this coffee best. Although it’s winter now, cold brew  a perfect digestive drink after dinner or Sunday’s brunch. And chefs or barmen can also experiment with this cold brew coffee in the kitchen by preparing deserts or long drinks.

Crooked Nose & Coffee Stories started in 2012.Founder Emanuelis Ryklys left the job he worked at for ten years, and was looking for something to do outside of work, which became a vast interest in coffee. After studying books and the internet Rykliu bought his first 10 kilograms of green coffee beans and began roasting in his home kitchen, in a mere pan. Afther his first batch of 100 package sold out quickly, he decided, together with his girlfriend to continue working with coffee. Firstly the coffee production balanced between a hobby and a job and although Ryklys still works from his home, he has achieved that now his focus strictly lays on different elements of coffee.

We love the evolution from hobby to craft of Ryklys and can’t wait to taste his cold brew ourselves!
