Le Typographe
A few weeks back we were invited by Miscellaneous to visit Le Typographe. This lovely company with its tiny storefront and amazing workshop in the back, located at Rue Américaine 67 in Brussels, makes beautiful notebooks, envelopes and cards. Housed in the Elsene area of Brussels one finds their store and atelier connected by a little, lovely well-kept garden. Just as in the maintenance of their garden, in all of their products one can find excellent craft and the highest care for detail.
Le Typographe is a letterpress studio where the printing technique with mobile leaden and wooden characters is privileged above modernised printing techniques. This classical approach of printing is based on the principle of relief. Paper is their means of expression. They propose a large range of tones and textures corresponding to the requirements of their printing technique. All products are printed on Heidelberg printing presses and are hand assembled, according to the centuries-old traditional methods which are continued gracefully at Le Typographe.
Le Typographe’s store can be visited Monday to Saturday from 11:30 to 18:00, but their wonderful products are also sold online at Miscellaneous.
