Yesterday Come Closer (YCC) is a non-linear, visual, aural, and textual experiment in purging and healing through contradiction. It apprehends Palestinian collective memory through my embodied journey to unpack the tensions in notions of home and belonging. Unfolding over 715 pages in conjunction with YCC SS, a sound system in collaboration with Radio Al-Harra, the work grapples with the generational residue of erasure, violence, and oppression that continues to envelop Palestine yet also is a deeply personal reckoning with spiritual and physical displacement. It includes my own photography, design, words and art alongside contributions from photographers, artists, and writers whom I love and respect. All powered by voices of resistance.
