AEANCE Collection 3

In Collaboration with Konstantin Grcic

Back in 2015 we covered the launch of AEANCE with their first collection here on Another Something. Earlier this year they released their third collection underlining their brave move away from the fashion cycles of multiple collections a year, and building on a non-seasonal basis in collaboration with well known designers. Starting with Hien Le on collection one and Steven Tai on collection two, it was now time to collaborate with the acclaimed industrial designer Konstantin Grcic on collection three. It marks an evolution from the brand’s signature performance apparel, into technical yet tailored ready-to-wear. The luxurious silhouettes in the 9-piece collection reflect AEANCE and Grcic’s understated, timeless and functional approach to design. Collection 3 will be available this May/June.

Less, but better.

When conceiving Collection 03, Konstantin Grcic applied the processes behind industrial design to fashion, creating pieces, which were simplified to their fundamental proportions. It features coats, jackets, blazers, trousers and skirts, crafted in technically innovative and sustainable fabrics. These versatile and pared-back pieces are conceived in a subtle yet strong colour palette of black, blue, grey, red and mauve.

There’s a functional finesse behind the garments. Pieces are lightweight, breathable and comfortable. Silhouettes are constructed using taped seams, laser cutting and bonding. Technical features, like vent holes, internal arm cuffs, concealed buttons and inner pockets bring a high performance finish to slim ready-to-wear shapes, like a men’s shawl collar blazer, or a women’s pleated skirt. Padded jackets, tailored coats and blazers also feature a new internal mobile phone radiation-shielding pocket. This is made from Swiss Shield®, a fabric with patented technology to protect from electromagnet fields, typically also used in industrial work wear. Silhouettes are customisable. Collars can be folded up or down. Zips have a 2-way mechanism or can be used to adjust the slimness of a garment.

Collection 03 is AEANCE’s most sustainable yet. 96% of its textiles are recycled, purely natural, biodegradable or bio-based. Blazers and jackets are constructed using super fine, ZQ Merino-certified New Zealand Merino wool, and a lightweight Japanese stretch fabric made from recycled nylon. Trousers are made from a fabric produced in Germany by Schoeller, using Modal with Micro technology, a protective, exceptionally soft and flexible fibre extracted from naturally grown beech wood.

As part of AEANCE’s non-seasonal mantra – which encourages slow consumption and timeless design – Collections 01, 02 and 03 are all available to purchase. Viewed together or individually, they embody the three terms that encapsulate the label: aesthetics, ascetic and performance.

Keep an eye on AEANCE website for collection and more updates.
