The Upper East Side Jewelry

Rebecca Schiffman designed a lovely jewelry collection inspired by architectural motifs found on New York’s Upper East Side. Crossing the neighborhood for more than 29 years she got inspired by the old and elegant ornaments. The collection (now running with kickstarter) will feature jewelry pieces based on at least 20 different motifs which will be employed in whatever way best suits that design. Our personal favorite is the Racing Hare brooch or pendant. Schiffman hand carved the running rabbit out of wax , modeling it as closely as possible to the hare figures racing their tortoise rivals around the third floor of 1040 Park Avenue (Delano & Aldrich, 1924).
