The Office Blend

We have written about the incredible Athens-based webstore named Daphnis and Chloe when we found out about it in July of this year. The elegant and exquisite project was founded by Evangelia Koutsovoulou who divides her time between between Athens, Milan and Barcelona. The webstore which was funded through Kickstarter focusses on culinary herbs and spices for chefs and home cooks who are looking for Mediterranean ingredients of the finest quality. Last week Evangelia and her team released an all new offering in the form of their caffeine-free alternative to normal tea which they named ‚The Office Blend’. Next to the new premium tea, which comes in a colorful all new container, the store has released this new packaging for all its herbs ensuring the best possible use for their fine herbs in the area where it matters most: the kitchen.

Greece is where some of the highest quality Mediterranean cooking herbs naturally prefer to grow. The varieties that grow in Greek soil can contain up to 30 times more essential oils (a parameter that defines their quality) than other typically available herbs sourced elsewhere. Moreover, thanks to its immense diversity of microclimates, Greece is home to an infinite list of endemic plants.

After months of herbal blending and several collaging experiments with their artist friend Nathalie du Pasquier who designed the pattern for this packaging, the first-ever herbal infusion produced by Daphnis and Chloe, named ‘The Office Blend’ came about. Containing rose hips and the very exclusive Greek mountain tea, which are rich in antioxidants, thyme which works great for the throat and peppermint which enhances memory and alertness. This beautiful new tea is all one needs in order to stay sharp and productive at the office. We can’t wait to have it at Our Current Obessions.

Many of the goods we sell are currently being cultivated and exported for the first time thanks to the Daphnis and Chloe. Our thyme flowers, part of the new tea’s recipe, and chili flakes are just some of these products that you simply won’t find anywhere else.

The elegant art direction for Daphnis and Chloe was done by Studio Omar Sosa, who is amongst other things the co-founder of Apartamento Magazine.
