Wired shared this short photographic tour of very large and very utilized underground caverns where things are kept cold, safe and secret. The image above is a 10,000 square feet of a 1,000-acre abandoned limestone mine where the Corbis Film Preservation Facility is currently kept at 45 degrees Fahrenheit and 37 percent relative humidity. It’s an amazing collection of 20 million photo’s and film negatives that Corbis collected over the years. Iron Mountain is also the federal government’s Noah’s Ark, where all the special people get to relocate when that asteroid comes screaming through the troposphere.
