Find Eat Drink
Find. Eat. Drink. is an online database and iOS app that highlights the best restaurants, drinking holes, and food shops around the world, according to professionals in the industry. This includes experts like Michelin-star chefs, coffee roasters, bartenders, sommeliers and food writers giving their personal recommendations in a fashion that reminds of the recently released printed guide Where Chefs Eat. Find. Eat. Drink. lets one browse offerings in over 120 major cities worldwide, utilizing the app there’s the option to use your location to show you what’s nearby, filtered by particular cuisine and price class.
When using the app in London, for instance, gives an interesting selection that looks as follows. In the most expensive category a place like Liberty of London is offered, recommended by chocolatier Amelia Rope praising its chocolate shop. Restaurant The River Cafe also is in the F.E.D. selection getting recommendations by chefs Hugo Matheson and Kerry Simon. Another recommendation is The Connaught Bar. In the cheaper categories one finds another recommendation by Amelia Rope in the Exeter Street Bakery which she praises “for the best coffee, incredible Italian pizza, rosemary shortbread and hazelnut meringues.” Another offering in the cheaper categories is Ciao Bella which chef Fergus Henderson praises for its smoking possibility while sitting outside and its good wine and lasagna. Lastly one also finds Vini Italiani in the list, recommended by sommelier Laura Vidal.
We really like the dynamicism of F.E.D. and hope that the guide will continue to grow as it has been growing, adding cities so one can use the guide in more and more places, confiding in the recommendations of experts worldwide.
